Responsibilities:

Nicolai is responsible for the day to day management of the company, and strategic positioning.
He is also involved in a professional capacity, in providing environmental legal and management consultation to our industrial, mining and government clients. He deals with litigation support, environmental management systems implementation of legal compliance elements (ISO 14001), Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA's), and assistance with all legal compliance aspects.

Nicolai has developed several environmental training courses, and also presents the management legal liability training courses.

Nicolai has developed the DigiLex legal compliance and SHEQ management system for Green Gain that is positioned to change the way organisations ensure legal compliance.
He is actively involved in performing environmental legal due dilligence and risk assessments.

Due to his experience in environmental management and environmental legislation, he has been a member of several multi-disciplinary project teams.

Key work experience:

• Delivering papers at seminars dealing with the effects of non-compliance to environmental legislation, EIA's, ISO 14 001.
• Providing environmental legal consultation to other environmental consultancies.
• Planning and executing environmental permitting processes from a management perspective.
• Acting as lead consultant in a project by the Danish Commission for Environmental Development (DANCED) on redrafting the waste management regulations for the Southern Metro Local Authority (Johannesburg).
• Practical environmental and other legal experience, gained as advocate at the Pretoria- and Cape Town Bar.
• Currently Managing Director of Green Gain Consulting, a company specializing in environmental legal and management consulting and training to industries, with the head office in Randburg.
• Consulting to industry on environmental law related issues.
• Compilation of legal registers for ISO 14 000 purposes.
• Development of environmental related training courses (including site specific courses).
• NQF accredited trainer.
• Planning and managing Environmental Management and legal compliance Software development.
• Member of the Board of the Aldo Leopold Institute.
• Course development for Aldo Leopold Institute.
